A great man passed away this year – His name was Errol Buddle.
One of the world’s first Jazz Bassoonists he was a real gentleman and I had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago when he was shopping for some new instruments. I had a copy of ‘Best of Buddle’s Doubles’ that would play in the store from time to time and I would soak up the classic old school jazz that he was famous for.
As a homage to his pioneering career here is a playlist filled with some of his wonderful work.
